Robert Wilson hat seit 1969 in jedem Jahr teils mehrere Bühnenaufführungen in aller Welt inszeniert und als Maler und Zeichner gearbeitet. Wilson war einer der ersten, der die Grenzen zwischen E- und U-Musik, Oper, Theater und Film aufgehoben hat und auf der Bühne mit Elementen aller Gattungen experimentierte.
